PREMIUM CREDIT PUBLISHES ANNIVERSARY BOOK TO CELEBRATE 25 YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY
Marking a quarter of a century of innovation and leadership
Epsom, September 2014 – Premium Credit is celebrating 25 years in the industry with the publication of a special commemorative book. Marking its position as the longest standing premium funding business in the UK, ‘Premium Credit: a celebration of 25 years’ charts the history and success of the company through a series of interviews with staff and clients.
In 1988, a gallon of petrol cost just £1.67 and the average house price was £61,020. Today a gallon of petrol costs £5.85 and the average house price is £250,000. But one thing that hasn’t changed in the last quarter of a century is the need to provide individuals and businesses with fair and flexible ways to fund insurance premiums as well as other fee-based services.
From humble beginnings, operating from a small office on Artillery Row London, Premium Credit has grown to become the number one Insurance Premium Finance Company in the UK and Ireland. In the last year it reported advances of £3.7billion, processing 25 million Direct Debits for 2 million customers.
For Sue Hill, historian and journalist, Premium Credit’s story was particularly enlightening. “I knew nothing about the world of premium finance before writing this book, but as soon as I started speaking to existing and former staff I realised Premium Credit was a company with a very human face, playing a crucial role in people’s lives. The importance of the working relationships both within the organisation and externally came through loud and clear and this was reinforced when I started speaking to the company’s clients.”
‘Premium Credit: A celebration of 25 years’ collects interviews with the staff and clients who have been with the business from the beginning, playing key roles in the 25 years of success. These include former Chief Executive, Nick Pearce and former Chairman, Graham Puttergill.
“Sue Hill has pulled all these accounts together to create a lively and personal insight into our business” explained Andrew Doman, Chief Executive of Premium Credit. “Anyone reading our history will gain a better understanding of our place as a leading premium funding business, as well as timeless messages and insights into our industry.
"The focus on our clients lies at the heart of Premium Credit’s success. We continue to listen to our customers and borrowers to ensure we deliver a consistent, reliable and sustainable service, designed to meet the changing demands of the marketplace. This book also pays tribute to our staff, who are committed to bringing our clients the very best advice and support for their needs. “We are celebrating 25 years and looking forward to the next 25, working to deliver innovative solutions for new and existing markets.”
